Winner of the 2008 prestigious "CQFD" Prize (for "Things Just Waiting to be Discovered") awarded by Les Inrockuptibles, Cascadeur is the stage name for Alex Longo, the singular vocalist and songwriter of three self-produced albums.

The son of an architect, Alex started to play the piano at the age of 9 before turning to pop and jazz 8 years later, now creating intensely sensitive music. A devoted football fan, he studied plastic arts.

Today, Cascadeur is a musician as visual as he is sound-based.

On stage, Cascadeur is a character who might well have popped up right out of a comic book !

But though his face is masked, Cascadeur reveals himself through his music. From chord to chord, one can hear the inspiration of Antony and the Johnsons, classic pop, Radiohead, and Nina Simone - but also Satie. The sound boxer fights with great subtlety and humour. The drunkenness of the sound quickly intoxicates the audience.

His work is currently receiving a lot of attention in France. Cascadeur is playing everywhere : at the Cannes Midem, at the Paris Bellevilloise, at Calvi on the Rocks, in a MMFF (French IMMF) showcase at the Réservoir, opening for the Nits, Heather Nova, Sharko or Cocoon among others ! In 2009, it all picked up speed with his beautifully moving show at La Cigale for the Festival des Inrockuptibles.

Cascadeur's next album will be his best to date. Ten songs, ten jewels, reworked and polished, selected from his first three albums and among 18 new songs. Step into his world - yours will be changed. ..

"I haven't felt such a shock since the discovery of Yaël Naïm" - Thierry Lecamp / Europe 1

"A daring writer and unique voice who can take you up stunt flying, loop-the-looping through the air. A desperado with a cool Jeff Buckley or Robert Wyatt attitude" - JD Beauvallet / Les Inrockuptibles

"No need for a ticket here - Cascadeur's musical journey is all you need for a trip !" - Philippe Abiteboul / France Inter ....
